在美国《时代》周刊最新一期杂志的封面上，“中国：一个新王朝的开始”几个大字赫然在列，红色的长城背后，一颗金黄色的五角星正冉冉升起。杂志内文详细报道了正在崛起的中国对世界的影响。

“中国经济将赶上美国”这一话题最近再度甚嚣尘上。西方媒体对“中国崛起”话题的报道更是连篇累牍。对此，美国《侨报》30日发表评论指出，中国赶英超美的条件还远不充分，中国政府和人民应警惕被“捧杀”。文章主要内容如下：

据一份对15国民众的调查结果显示，绝大多数被调查民众都对中国经济最终会赶上美国深信不疑，几乎没有多少人对此表示出担忧，而大多数民众认为这一结果“不好不坏”或“是件挺积极的事情”。

无独有偶，美国中央情报局两周多前也公布一份“世界数字”报告指出，按实际购买力估算（这一方法被称为PPP：purchasing power parity）世界各国国内生产总值，中国排在美国之后，遥遥领先于第三的日本，第四的印度。

该报告分析，如果按2006年一年间美中两国距离缩小近3%的比例算，中国只需要两年就能超过美国，于2009年成为世界上实际的第一经济大国。

中国经济的强劲增长、国力日渐强大，这对华人读者来说，自是提振士气的好事。不过，外界如此高看中国经济，多少也让人有些警惕，谁在捧杀中国经济。

目前世界上有两种统计方法—-名义汇率法和购买力平价计算法。统计方法不同，中国排名差异非常大。世界银行同时采用上述两种方法，中情局使用的则是后者。

按照卡内基基金会专家的分析，购买力平价估值一般基于1987年的数据，因而过高估计了中国的医疗服务和机械制造水平，因此不能相信中国的生活标准将很快达到世界一流。保守估计，2050年以前中国不会达到美国现在的生活水准。

形形色色的对中国发展的预期，可令人联想到上世纪80年代世界对日本的热捧：当时日本经济正处高速发展时期，1980年日本的GDP已接近美国的一半。当日本人买下美国经济的象征洛克菲勒广场、买下美国的精神象征好莱坞时，全球都曾为之震撼。

然而刚刚迈进1990年代，高高飘扬的太阳旗便徐徐下落。而今中国的发展与世界的变化使世界舆论纷纷发出“中国会否成为日本第二”的疑问。

历史既已有惊人相似的场景，也就提供了珍贵的经验。中日两国的经济基础和社会结构大不相同，政治体制及其选择的现代化道路也差异巨大，似无必要担心“日本现象”在中国的出现，但中国政府仍应时刻保持清醒的头脑。

既然赶英超美的条件远不充分，中国更应警惕被捧杀。

北京时间4月16日，最新一期《财富》杂志公布了2007年美国500强企业排行榜。由于石油价格趋于稳定，沃尔玛反超埃克森-美孚，再度跃升排行榜首位。今年没有IT企业进入前十强，排名最高的惠普位列第十四位。

　　2007年美国财富500强的排名依据是2006年企业营收，其中沃尔玛以3511.39亿美元位列第一，过去六年里第五次登上榜首宝座。尽管
埃克森-美孚退居第二位，但石油企业在前五名中仍然占据了三个席位，另外两家公司是雪佛龙和康菲。2006年，美国财富500强企业的总营收为9.9万亿
美元，比2005年增长8.9%；净利润为7850亿美元，比2005年增长29%。

　　排名美国财富500强前十位的企业依次是沃尔玛、埃克森-美孚、通用汽车、雪佛龙、康菲、通用电气、福特汽车、花旗集团、美国银行和美国国际集
团。排名靠前的IT企业包括惠普(14)、IBM(15)、AT&T(27)、戴尔(34)、微软(49)、摩托罗拉(52)和英特尔(62)。
在今年的美国500强企业中，排名上升幅度最大的是全美航空，名次提高了208位；排名下滑幅度最大的是Avis，名次下降了291位。按照营收计算，
2006年增长幅度最大的行业为

Sony Japan recently released a new USB mouse with a unique twist.
Simply pick up the mouse from your desktop, and it flips open to become
a Skype telephone handset.

The Sony VN-CX1A telephone mouse
is a fully-functional optical mouse which works with all Windows PCs.
Pick it up, and open it and it transforms into a VOIP phone for use
with Skype. When propped open on the desktop, it becomes a speaker
phone. The mouse comes in black, silver and blue colors which match most of Sony’s VAIO PCs.

It’s available now from Sony Style Japan for ¥7980 (appx. $65 USD.) No release date has been announced for other countries.
